This page is where I will post documents from class, when possible. The bulk of these files will be various classwork and homework assigned in class. If you were absent or have possibly misplaced your assignments consult this list. If you cannot find what you need or are unsure, don't delay contact Mr. Walker immediately!

For this assignment you will read the historical account of the Qin Dynasty.
Read pages 107-109 "The Qin Dynasty Unifies China"

Also complete an acrostic using the word "Crusades." Each letter in the word should be used to start a sentence describing what we have learned about the Crusades in class this week.

Unit 3: Ancient Greece

  • 10/26/09 — Ancient Greece Test Study Guide

For this assignment you will be required to complete 4 sections (equal to 4 homework assignments) of questions that will help you prepare for the upcoming test. You are only expected to complete one section of questions per night. I will be doing daily checks in class to insure that you are staying on top of your studies each night. Do not wait until the night before the test to complete all 20 questions! This assignment is worth 40 points and is due Friday when you walk into class.

  • 10/22/09 — Athenian Democracy vs. USA Democracy

You are required to complete the chart comparing the USA to Athens and answer the reflection question in at least 7-10 sentences.


  • 10/20/09 — Regional Map of Ancient Greece

Consult pages 121,124, and 132 in the textbook for helpful information.
You are required to include the following on your map:

  • Create a map key that organizes and neatly labels the different items on your map.
  • Label Bodies of Water — Mediterranean Sea, Aegean Sea, Ionian Sea
  • Color each of the following Area — Ancient Greece (green), Macedonia (yellow), Anatolia (red).
  • Label the following cities: Sparta, Athens, Thermopylae, Marathon

Unit 2: Comparative Civilizations

  • 10/16/09 — First Structured Essay Assignment

For your homework this weekend you are to complete the 4-paragraph essay that we started in class. You essay must meet the following requirements
1. The essay is 4 paragraphs long (at least 4-5 sentences per paragraph)
2. The essay must have an introduction, 2 body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph.
3. The essay has a thesis that you have underlined
4. The essay gives 2 examples from the textbook that support your thesis.

Your essay must answer the following prompt:

Explain how achievements made by the ancient Egyptians have helped us in our modern world today. Give two examples from the reading to support your answer Consult pages 40-41 for more information.
